Wild and Wandering Thoughts of a frizz-laden loon

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O, no! it is an ever-fixed mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

- William Shakespeare

I'm putting this up here where I have easy access to it. It's just so good. I know no one will agree, but I'm a Shakespeare gal and an incurable romantic; it's my thing. So I like it a lot. Farewell!

  • I guess many people love Shakespeare. I'd have liked to have met the guy, he's either very camp, gay or a fake.

    They quote that in Sense and Sensibility. At least, they do in the film. I haven't read the book yet.

  • No offence to Mr Shakespeare.

    Sense and Sensibility is a great film. Hugh Laurie is fantastic in it.

  • Love is the cohering energy of the universe; the obverse of fear; the principle of inclusive connectivity. Love is God on the move. Perhaps that is why Love is not Time's fool. Love is dynamic, never submitting to stasis. That which notices Time is that which is static.

  • Shakespeare is crap, he is the bane of my life. He actually is, though. If he didn't exist not only would we not have to study his plays, but I would not have to be surrounded by tourists every time I go into town. (from Tash)

    Shakespeare is just crap full stop. And he is full of GAYness. (from Kat)

  • if shakespeare wasn't around i guess we might have got to do a musical for house drama.
